Can you not see the problems the USA and Australia have got since the were Fracked. This cannot happen in the UK. Open your eyes to the real dangers

too many alternative powers there to be put in place - use the money from the fracking choice to fund better alternatives - what will happen when the shale gas runs out - damage done and still in the same place as we are now.

Fracking is manifestly unsafe. There are no measures that can be taken to make it safe and the damage is irreversible. Pure insanity.

Disgusting.First the government insist we need more houses when thousands of empty and for sale houses available.Now want to damage what's left of Darwen.Do they think we are just a backwater they can do anything with.Do it in your own backyard.

As the government has claimed that they intend to push forward with fracking to make England energy independent I would like to express my view that this is a short sighted falacy. Shale gas is a limited resource and would only create energy independence for a short time.
With the amount of subsidies that these companies will be given, surely it makes more economic sense (and actual common sense) to invest in developing renewable energy sources. There have been brilliant breakthoughs in solar power recently meanimg more efficiently and more cheaply produced solar power cells. I have read about roads in Denmark that have had solar power producing fences put up that reduce noise from roads, allow light through and create power; clealy a creative idea of generating energy and improving the visual impact on an area.
Recently in the news we have read about carbon neutral housing that has been created in a cost effective way that would be highly suitable for new social housing developments. Clearly we have the technology to really push forward with green technology.
A further concern is the impract of heavy goods traffic that would add to our roads which are already over capacity.
Evidence from fracking opperations in America and Australia point to the process as being risky and harmful to the health of the general population and the environment. There have been documented cases of water contamination next to areas of gas drilling as well as cases of sensory, respiratory, and neurological damage due to ingested contaminated water ( http://www.dangersoffracking.com ). If any accidents occur in the fracking industry, they pose very serious threats. In an area of such dense population as East Lancashire, do we really want to be risking the safety of so many people?
The law, as it currently stands allows for the ceasing of opperations of persons or businesses that create (a)serious pollution of the environment, (b)serious harm to human health, or (c)danger to life
