Students are paying too much for an education! In order to get a good education, students are sacrificing their food and their housing and that is not okay! No education is worth going hungry or being homeless for!

We as students are already struggling to make it through four. I am on financial aid and I work about 28 hours a week and still struggle to make everything work. Please think of the students who work to put themselves through, or the students who are forced to use the Wildcat Pantry because tuition costs take priority over eating. I would rather see students wait a little longer at the health center than not be eating.

Why is there no information about the fee increase on this website? Instead of putting forth neutral information about what the fee increase entails, you rely on IGNORANCE to get signatures. The fee increase will help support the Student Health Center, which is in much need of help. We need to support the physical and mental health of students in order to create a strong learning environment. It will also support the Student Learning by providing funding for resources, trips, and much more which are extremely important for student success. Finally, it will support athletics. If I'm going to be honest, life is NOT set in a classroom. There is a reason student athletes have higher graduation rates on average than non-athletes. We learn and gain much wisdom through sports. It has also created a culture, and if I learned anything in history it is that culture is extremely important for the identity of a society, individual, place, etc. Stripping Chico State of its athletics is essentially stripping it of a part of its culture. It brings students together and it is part of what creates a sense of identity within the Chico State community. EDUCATE people on this fee adjustment and allow them to make their own educated positions instead of relying on the ignorance of individuals who are driven by strong emotions.
