The purpose of an exam is to make sure you know the content you were taught. Has nothing to do with intellect. I do agree that there should be one last thing to apply all the knowledge you learned. With that said, I am not a huge fan of the way we have decided to do that "exams". I am also not a fan of tests in general. But that's another topic.

Exams make or break averages and if 10% of students are given the opportunity to not write exams due to the strike, it's only fair that the remaining 90% should be given the same opportunity. I've worked hard all year and my exams could ruin my average. It may not apply to all of the 10%, but students who have slacked off all year could be given a get-into-university free card because of no exams.
How is that fair?

Exams are so pointless and add soo much un-needed stress to students, we have been learning and have been tested on this stuff all year, why do we have to cram and panic to remember every small detail at the end of the year?
