We take children to parks to play. Friends meet early in the AM to walk Green Lake. Single people have always felt free to hike the trails of Fort Lawton in the middle of the day. These are just some examples of citizens' expectations for clean, safe parks. Anything less is not acceptable.

In my 59 years of living here in Seattle, I have many fond memories of gatherings with friends and family, dogs, feeling safe in my solitude. Seen many, many people playing, exercising, meditating, napping, attending fund raisers, church picnics, AA and NA events and on and on and on. And now thanks to drug addled, criminal homeless that have stolen from us taxpaying citizens, most parks are empty, a wasteland, dangerous and depressing. We need our parks back. NOW!!!

The number one responsibility of any government is to protect the safety of its citizens. Get these criminals, vagrants and drug addicts out of the parks that belong to all of us

The city needs to enforce its laws. They're allowing unsafe conditions for residents and tourists.. If they cannot do this, they should be out of office!

The parks have been created by home owners paying property taxes. The parks are for the use of home owners, not vagrants. The county needs to create tracts of land outside of the cities for colonies of homeless so that these citizens have a place to belong.

Our public parks are a treasure to be preserved and enjoyed. (Did you know that 11% of the land in our city is designed green space? And that it is the highest in the country for any urban area? Amazing!)
It's time to remove these encampments that threatened the health and safety of everyone, including those who are living in their squalid conditions without access to running water, sewage disposal systems, etc.
It is out city's duty to protect our public spaces before they are irreversibly damaged.

Parks are for everyone to feel safe in and find solace in including wildlife. Individuals camping in the park provide none of these.

Quit enabling them with our tax dollars. The more we have to give the more come. The city has given away public park land on Meyers Way. Rather than clear the campers that broke into and trespassed onto public land that was designated to become a park, our politicians rolled over and sanctioned Camp 2nd Chance rather than to uphold the law. Stop the double standards. As tax payers we would not get away with destroying public property.
