I wouldn't approve of this, especially in a housing an school area. It's a family oriented community and, it shouldn't be held there. It should be out north of town. For crying out loud we can't have roosters in town because they are loud but yet your going to let loud an dangerous cars in. That don't make sense. An not to mention the house will lose value, no one is going to want to be around the noise an exhaust smell, especially when they are having family get togethers outside bbq. An with little kids running around an playing, it all seems like a disaster. You know darn well we let this happen it's not going to stay in the gates. People are going to get butt hurt for losing an take it else where in town, an letting this happen is telling them that it's ok, when it's illegal.

This is ridiculous. I don't think drag racing will benefit the community, quite the opposite in fact. Find a place to do this elsewhere. I'd hate to be a homeowner in that neighborhood if they allowed this.

If this is as important to this group as they say, maybe build a private track on property owned by the group. Rather than wasting taxpayer money to do this

1) If racing is allowed there, it is not going to decrease people racing in the area. It will increase it, people have to practice!!
2)We and lots of others walk/bike this road almost everyday in the summer with kids and pets.
I didn’t realize it was zoned for something like this...probably because it’s not. This is a residential/school district area. Are they planning on blocking off areas we can’t use as well as blocking the desert entrance?
3) I am pretty sure this is the area they are planning on building the off site High School. If the plan is for 2 years how are they doing this around the construction??
4) This will be a good idea until someone gets hurt racing in city limits and then it becomes a city issue... hope the city has good insurance. Waiting for litigation...
5) There is a big gutter at the end of this “track” by the stop sign that decreases the distance they are proposing.
Maybe the City should just spend money and build a track if it’s wanted? This will save any litigation that could come with inadequate zoning and safety which would be necessary to have a legitimate racing track. It’s going to feel great when someone runs into the protected chain link fence at the end of the track or rolls onto the sidewalk. How about voting on a one cent tax increase for a safe legitimate track.

This is currently a problem on this street. I've called dispatch at 2 a.m. due to the noise of revving engines and we live a couple of blocks away. Drag racing in a high density residential area is not a good idea!

There are plenty of other summer events that don't pose as much of a safety risk, and nuisance to the community. We do not need street racing endangering lives.
