As a Christian, I feel persecuted in the land of my birth. Mr. Trudeau, what about a bill to protect me and my fellow Christians from Christianophobia? Stop the systemic religious discrimination and persecution of Christians! You are throwing Canada under the bus! Stop the insanity!

I and most Canadians are against hate or discrimination. To single out one group for a special day to emphasize this, is to suggest that hate or discrimination against others is less important.
This is contrary to the Canadian way
