We must protect the sacred springs and our community from this money hungry industry that is set on destroying our environment and ways of life.

City water does not reach my rural home. We are solely dependent on a well from the aquifer beneath us. The water is already piped to SA where their leaky pipes waste it. Do not take more for data centers!

I don’t object to data centers per se, but they are extremely water intensive and our region is currently in a long-term drought, so it would be harmful to build a data center here.

Data centers creat high electric bills for everyone, use enormous amounts of water, and make noise. This while we have droughts and water shortages and strain on the electrical grid. All just to help the rich get richer by employing more robots. Protect our environment and our pocketbooks.

I will not trade drinking water for stupid internet creations. Data centers have historically been able to function without riverwater, so go back to that

Thousands of people spend money at businesses in San Marcos after being in the river all day and with the data center, that money washes away.

The Texas Hill Country with its vital springs, rivers, streams, lakes and creeks and the entire Edward’s Aquifer Region needs to be permanently protected and preserved from any additional, unnecessary pollution sources, senseless, destruction of farmland, forests and natural areas and overcrowding housing developments. It is time to think about the consequences all of this will have on our future.

We just don’t have the ground or surface water resources right now for data centers. The Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA) declared unprecedented Stage 5 conditions May 23 2025. Based on current reports, Hays County, and surrounding area, cannot easily sustain the massive water requirements of proposed data centers without threatening existing water supplies.
