Ajehuac Yana, the waters in San Marcos are the source of our Coahuiltecan Creation story. It will be a grave injustice to the Indigenous, native and local community to desecrate these lands and waters in favor of further exploitative infrastructure. We will do everything in our power to protect these sacred waters and the ecosystems that depends on its health, which includes the endangered species, Texas Wild Rice, which are under ongoing conservation efforts. The future generations deserve pure clean and flowing waters, as do all the wildlife and community surrounding these sacred lands.

We live in a constant state of drought - bringing a water sucking industry like this to our area makes zero sense, unless all you care about is a cash grab. That doesn’t even take into account the noise pollution, impervious cover, runoff pollution, etc. The AI bubble is heavily leveraged, and just as likely as not to pop - when that happens, there won’t even be the benefit of jobs - just an empty shell of an ugly building, destroyed habitat, and regret. Get out of here with this nonsense.

It is asinine to build a water-sucking data center in an area that suffers from near-perpetual drought. Take it 200 miles east where water is plentiful. Jobs won't do us any good when nothing is coming out of the water faucets.
