Please, We beg of you: The data centers will impact our community drastically as it will impart much pollution to the ground water, air quality, generating noise AND heat for our wildlife that us already impacted by the expansion of our growing communities around us; that is the sole reason from moving from my beloved Austin of 35 years. Our wonderful & vital Edward's Aquifer will continue to be depleted by the ALREADY Low table as it is; Weare in serious drought conditions as it is.
Jacob's Well should have never been opened up to increasing damages caused by recklessness unconscious individuals that do not have respect or knowledge of it's importance to all of us. Please, once this used to be pure, as I swim & used to dive to study the great habitat of the endangered wild rice & the endangered aqua salamander and fish that do not live anywhere else in the US! NO SATA CENTERS!!!

Texas already has more than 400 data centers. Each center uses massive amounts of water taken from our water table. In as little as five years from now, Texas will be in a water crisis, just providing water to residents, water to farmers growing viable crops. The owners of these data centers aren’t Texas residents, don’t offer massive amounts of jobs to Texas residents, so they don’t care. Yet, our governor, Greg Abbot is giving data centers more subsidies and greater tax breaks than what actual Texas residents are getting! We have to stop the continued construction of data centers in Texas right now! Otherwise, by the time Texas residents realize these data centers were a bad idea…it will already be too late. A data center can easily shut down and move their equipment somewhere else. But, you can’t just build factory that magically produces WATER! Imagine being charged more for water than what you pay for gasoline. And still be limited as to how much water you can use each day. Europe is way ahead of the U.S. in the terms of limiting data centers. That’s because they’ve already figured out the great detriment data centers have, that unfortunately the residents of the U.S. and Texas will have to learn the hard way. City councils are selling out their own towns and best interests to 3rd party data centers. There’s a lot of our land that has always been designated as strictly agricultural. Parks, wildlife preserves and sanctuaries, even allotment for residential. When your ELECTED OFFICIALS, the people who work for YOU, the Texas residents and taxpayers…start allowing this land to be refined as light industrial to industrial, establishments like data centers are allowed to be built there. Imagine a data center being built next door to your house. There is no clean energy here. Natural resources such as water that data centers use, cannot continuously recycle the water they use. In cooling their machines with water, OUR drinking water, so much dissipates and evaporates

You know ? Houston used be a pretty nice place to live. Now, it’s an industrial wasteland paved in concrete. Don’t make the same mistake with the Texas Hill Country as they did with the Gulf Coast. Don’t put industry above people and don’t put money above land, a resource they aren’t not making anymore of because once it’s gone, it’s gone.

We are entering stage 4 drought. The water and energy demand for these developments is unjustifiably high if we are to value quality of life and community health over tax revenue. This is a race to the bottom, please pump the brakes.

Save our water. All Data Centers need to provide their own water. Texas water is precious and running out. We can live without AI, but we cannot live without water.
