Data centers will require plenty of water to cool their computers. The area is already facing shortage for humans.

This area is a unique nursery type region to an entire ecosystem of wildlife which directly effects and dictates the condition of the surrounding regions. There must be a more efficient and harmless solution to storing data than taking advantage of the natural water sources which are already dwindling.
