There is almost no benefit for San Marcos in this data center. Serious harm is probable for our already compromised water supply.

Please don't further deplete a natural resource for the empty promise of job creation. San Marcos finds more value in the tourism that the river brings than a few janitorial and it jobs. If San Marcos depletes its River, the city has nothing. Prioritize your people over profit.

Our water ways are extremely important for both the residents and the animals that inhabit the body of water. Creating another data center won’t help us in any way, shape or form. You’ll consume our drinking water, kill off species that are endangered in that area and kill our air. We don’t need more data centers.

I don’t drink enough water, but I’d still prefer it to be available. No data centers.

We don't need the additional massive strain on local resources citizens have to constantly worry about already in order to provide services for data centers which provide barely any benefits to those of us who live here.
My opinion might be different if the data centers were primarily self sustainable but from the plans I've seen regardless of what they claim will be their minimal direct use due to the technology they'll be using the indirect impact through local resources is not worth the extra tax revenue generated.

I use to live in San Marcos. Everyone talks about how on certain weeks the town smells bad due to a tortilla factory. We have actively avoided that part of town when this smell happens.
The river is popular among San Marcos residents. The moment it’s a beautiful day, people line the grass along the river. We bring our families, children, and pets. The river is celebrated. San Marcos has a mermaid society.
It would be deeply upsetting if as a town everyone was forced to avoid the river and inform new residents to not trust the river. Big data centers have ruined towns and cons have more devastating than any pros.
