Horrible idea. The A'a will be all over the place causing damage to cars. DOT's reasons are lame. The guy that said if you don't like lava rocks on the side of the road, you shouldn't live here? Hello? The rocks are in the middle of the road.

First time I saw the rocks I thought, "Why are there a'a rocks in the divider and how did they get there?". How about some drought tolerant native vegetation. If there must be stone placed there, at least gravel would be less sharp and more freindly.

My husband is a cyclist and already complains about how much stuff is on the highway that causes frequent flat tires. This potential placement of a’a rock in the median will be dangerous to drivers as well as cyclists.

A motorcyclist could drive onto the bare ground divider to evade an inattentive driver moving into his lane. He could not stay upright on a’a rocks. Also, who will want to pick up all the litter that will get stuck on the jagged a’a?

As a motorcyclist it is terrifying to look at those rocks that could maim or disfigure me if I got bumped off the road. There is nowhere to go to avoid a car cutting into my lane.
