I started out at the pool 20 years ago and only do the pool. It seems like now that it finally has water aerobics in place after dwindling down to almost nothing that now pool hours are being cut back. This is an inconvenience all the way around.

I try to swim daily because I have pain issues. Because of the pool closures, I can no longer do so. I really feel it in my body when I can’t swim. This is the only reason that I come to the Y. If this continues, then I will have to look elsewhere for a place to swim.

this is BS if you want to save money get management to fill in those 15 minute breaks for life guard on the off so called hours. the pool is over crowded now.
Don't take away pool time. TRUE management should be able to fill any spot needed.

I've been a member for 24 years and only use the pool. If the pool must close for a few hours daily at least alternate closures early/late every other day. Further, if wages are an issue, eliminate the table on the pool deck where 2-3 people sit and do nothing (I'm not referring to the lifeguards).

Access to the pool is as important as the machines, weights and classes. Do not cut the pool’s hours.

The pool is the only reason I keep membership at the Y. If the hours are to be cut or reduced then I will use the pool by Ross which costs less and cancel my membership at the YMCA,

The cutbacks on the pool hours have really caused so much inconvenience and stress for me! Now I have to work out my schedule around Hilltop Y’s pool schedule. It is ridiculous! I am entitled to using the pool anytime because my monthly-not -too-cheap gym membership fee covers it. I was once told by management here in the past the reason the gym membership fee is expensive is because of the operating expenses of the indoor pool.

I/we need this pool open and that the classes remain at the set times...as they have for YEARS! THis is when the Y cared about it’s members
Maybe, if they cared more about the pool ares more people would join...I know at least 3/4 people who have said, they would love to attend the pool aquatics...but, the water is too cold.
I have attended for years and that is how long they have TALKED about replacing the boiler??? Renovations every where but the pool...

I hope more will be done to keep the water aerobics program vibrant. I'm against cutting pool hours. This seems like a poor decision in the interest of money . The way it was done did not even involve the community or those of us who are affected at the Richmond Y. I don't see how that reflects community and family values.

Under the present schedule I cannot swim, which is the primary reason to come to the Y. Therefore I will be terminating my membership after over 15 years

At least once a week when I go to swim I have to share a lane to lap swim. I joined this Y because of your pool. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and swimming is a huge part of maintaining my health. If the objective is to save money, how much really are you saving in Life Guard wages. Is this YMCA that financially vulnerable that not paying those nominal wages will have such an impact? With the current schedule individuals like myself will have to find another gym to go to.

I joined the Y for the indoor pool and the hours that were offered. I understand that the pool costs money, but this is what I'm paying for with my membership dues. I know there are MANY members who only come to the Y for the pool. Isn't the Y concerned about losing these members? And, if not, what has happened to one of the Y's core values: Caring?

I can not believe what you are doing ,not telling your loyal members for so many years .I agree with everything above about less time for people ,crowed lanes etc
.
I don't know how you make this decision.and why .
Maybe you should explain to members

This is the most ridiculous change for the Y. The pool is an integral part of the Y. Scaling back hours is potentially a set back for many who strive to keep an exercise regime.
