Coronadans are at risk of being pushed out of their own community by Christian Nationalists who intend to "surround the city" and say to residents, "come out with your hands up!" (The lead pastor said these exact words.) Coronado embraces religions and cultures of all kinds, but NOT cults with ulterior motives. Do not let Awaken fool you into believing they are just a church. They are dangerous and should not be allowed into our community.

I am a Christian pastor, and I am appalled by the behavior of the narcissistic toxic leaders of this so-called church. I stand with the residents of Coronado. The way the leaders of awaken are approaching this… It does not reflect the love and example of Jesus Christ, who we Christ followers try to imitate. Instead of trying to take over the town, the leaders of awaken would do well to follow the example of Jesus and learn how to serve the town.

This man and his followers are frightening! His words of fear and hate are not those of Jesus, who taught love and acceptance.

This is a good first step, but we'll need to do much more than sign on-line petitions, unfortunately. Let's get organized now (both on- and off-line), so that we'll be ready to stand up to these deceitful, far-right militant haters when they make their push to establish themselves here in Coronado.

YIKES!! This is hard to believe! Reminds me of Tammy Faye and crazy Jim Bakker who had a mega church in Charlotte, NC and then a tv show called the PTL Satellite Network. Had it for years then there was a scandel and he went to jail for 5 years.

I oppose all organizations and individuals that supported the Jan. 6th events at the Capitol and oppose those groups accumulating more influence anywhere, including in Coronado.

Divisiveness, racism, election denying and white nationalism are un-Christian and un-American. They have no place in Coronado and no place in the US. Jesus said, "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of my brothers you did it to me." (Mathew 25:40). The Pharisees and hypocrites of the "Awaken Church" are not welcome in Coronado.

Lived here for 60 years, this place is becoming awful. And awful people are leading the way. We must stand up against these people who are paving the way into “Idiocracy”

Horrors. I hope the city residents oppose everything about this effort to come to Coronado. Scary,
