Tim Blankenship needs to be replaced and if the school board does not replace him, they need to be voted out as well. August, 2016, five board members are up for re-election. The Community needs to stand up against this. We need to go to the central office and request a salary sheet for everyone working there. It's public information and anyone can get a copy. Their has been many raises issued to Central Office staff just in the last month.

Things has gotten out of control and it all started with Sequoyah's High School seniors prank that went to far. They done things to their school that was totally uncalled for. And yet it was all swept under the rug so to speak. And now the school board wants to cut 90 jobs. And when Tellico high lost their band program it was all fine and dandy that the kids lost their music and choir and no replacement was ever talked about. So He'll No on the Pay Raises for the School Board Members !!!! The kids are the ones that are suffering from the lack of the people being responsible for their actions and I don't think anyone should receive any kind of a raise. It's total chaos!!!

I normally do not respond to anything political. It is too disgusting and I feel like I need a shower after I'm involved with it. "BUT" this DOES need to be an elected position. Anyone put into a position of power without having to answer to the people, has a tendency to abuse that power. The only way at this point to accomplish this is to vote out any school board members who are against this being an elected position. The school board members need to be held accountable for this happening because a man in power without no chance of being accountable to the people tends to rule instead of serve the people. Folks, it is up to you call your school board members and if they fail to listen, replace them. Follow this up with getting behind some qualified non-political people to run against them. Problem Solved.

I could talk for days about how I feel about this man, but I'll try to keep it short. He is a disgrace to Monroe County; I was lucky enough to only have to put up with him this past year. He's done more damage to the Monroe County school systems in one year than anyone else has been able to do in a full term. When I walked across the stage all I could think about was I am finally done with all this drama, and I was trying to find a way to take my diploma without shaking his hand. Like I said before I could go on and on about how Blankenship does NOT deserve this position, but I think you get the point. I'm glad someone has put this petition together.
