People who own widebeam barges are being marginalised and penalised in a discriminatory manner which is unfair and not in a consultative manner . The CRT have made decisions unfairly

I believe the current direction and actions of C&RT clearly demonstrate they are no longer fit for their stated core purpose of "Maintaining canal and river navigations for use by boats" and require restructuring from the top down. They are intent on repositioning and rebranding themselves as far away as possible from their statutory resposibilities inherited from British Waterways. I understand The Secretary of State for DEFRA is ultimately responsible for C&RT and has the power to remove the current trustees and executive board and replace them with people that are actually qualified for and totally committed to the job. If the C&RT are allowed to continue running down the system, we will all eventually loose our rights and ability to cruise the waterways based on the excuse that it is no longer cost effective for them to maintain navigation and then the statutes will be removed. I passionately hope we can successfully defend the future of our navigations for posterity and close off any divisive get out clauses in the legislation that C&RT under the direction of DEFRA and the government appear to be aiming for.

Seeing the waste of money on this rebranding when lock landings and locks need maintenance is a disgrace

Boats are the reason for canals, by decentralising them you ruin the purpose of the waterways.

I have regular dealings with crt ground based maintenance staff and they are frustrated at the restrictions placed on them to carry out even the most basic of essential maintenance. This has to stop. You are not only restricting the safe navigation of boats but due to your negligence you are putting peoples life in danger. Your staff see it so why can’t you! It’s bad when the boaters themselves have to carry the slack for your poor management. Be managers not politicians!

C&RT are a shambles. The waterways of the UK are a national treasure, not a private source of income to be asset stripped.

Why spend stupid amounts of license fee money on rebranding when money is needed to the the Middlewich branch. They had the ordacity to beg for funds to do this repair. The lunatics have taken over the Asylum.
