Instead of investing in projects that will hurt the environment further and possibly harm people's health and economy, why not seek and incentivize the opposite?

We do not need to spend billions of dollars on natural gas infrastructure. Natural gas is a powerful greenhouse gas that will help quicken the heating of the planet (I can't believe I have to say this). All that money must be put into solar and wind to be fair to future generations. People and creation are more important than profits hands down. Not even close. Don't build a compressor station or pipeline.

There is no such thing as a quiet, clean compressor station or a safe fracked gas pipeline. These were never designed to be built near to where people sleep, breathe, and drink. The toxins travel beyond community borders.
Stop the HIP and preserve Thomas Jefferson's Virginia for future generations. Virginia lives are more valuable than a factory that may never be built, or dirty energy that we don't need. STOP the HIP! Thank You!!

As a 4th generation Chesapeake resident, I do not want this pollution and threat to my neighborhood. I am demanding that Chesapeake City Council not approve of this injustice to neighborhoods already struggling with unemployment; health disparities; and other struggles during a pandemic.
