We, as the scholars of Desoto, would appreciate the opportunity to throughly "spread our wings" in self expression by getting the permission to wear non-collared shirts / Spirit Shirts and etc. We believe that this form of self expression can not only benefit to the self esteem and creativeness in the students, but altogether produce stronger connections in the High School with staff and students .

Seeing the count climb toward one hundred signers proves that so many of us are tired of feeling restricted by these stiff collars. Please send this link to a classmate right now because hitting this milestone will show the administration that we are serious about changing our dress code.

Seeing the count climb toward five hundred reminds me how many of us are tired of feeling restricted by these stiff collars every single day. If we hit this goal right now we show the administration that our desire for comfort and real self expression is undeniable.

Yes I think we should take away the collard shirt and be able to wear any kinda of shirt that is appropriate for school because all we do is go to school to get our education not worrying about finding a collard shirt or trying to stay in dress code

In all fairness to the parents and students, the dress code should either be uniforms or regular clothes with a dress down Friday. The current dress code is not economically friendly at all. Please update the dress code.

Expression of self is very important in the stages of high school students lives. They should be able to build self confidence and character. Allowing them to show themselves through dress should be allowed as long as it is presentable and doesn't take away from their innocence.

I understand this year's enforcement of the dress code that was put into place last year, but I find it unnecessary to allow dress code to interfere with our education. A collar and a logo shouldn't be the reason we miss class time.

Honestly, The current dress code rules are extremely unnecessary. The new rules are obstructing our freedom of expression and educational opportunities. I think we would be better prepared for what's after Highschool if the district was more strict on what we are learning, rather than what we are wearing.

I too wish us to not have collard shirts , because it was not like this last year and most students did not, as myself, get the update this summer that we had to purchase a whole new woredrobe to be able to walk in the school building.
