With all the military, port, and recreation uses that make this city so valuable, it's important to do as much as we can to protect the coast and waters that surround and protect our city. The strain we place on the surrounding marine life needs to be limited as best we can.

The wildlife of our ocean are already diminished by acid rain and rising ocean temperature. Eliminating these leases will at least reduce the probability that they will face the additional impacts of oil spills and dispersants.

Dear President Obama,
With fossil fuels on the way out, it moves us backward to increase investment in oil exploration, like our president elect is about to do. Tourism is San Diego's 3rd largest industry and our beaches are the main attraction. We cannot risk opening our beautiful shorelines to this fossil-minded source for our energy.

"Of all the questions which can come before this nation, short of the actual preservation of its existence in a great war, there is none which compares in importance with the great central task of leaving this land even a better land for our descendants than it is for us."

As a San Diego resident, this really disturbs me. It's 2017 already, we shouldn't depend on fossil fuels any more. Let's keep the ocean as it is and stop drilling offshore, when an eventual spill will destroy the already threatened eco-systems within it.
Save our precious sea life and coast.
PLEASE preserve our coastline and do not drill for oil on the west coast
Please stop the drilling here! Thank you!
