Mr. McGuire, please forward this to my representatives. We don't want a carcinogenic material like coal in America much less Humbodlt, northern California. And to be shipped out from California at the coast of the Pacific Ocean to overseas entities to be burned. The idea of the Russian River area to be used as a transit route is horrendous.

A coal train through Marin, Sonoma and Humboldt counties to a coastal port would be a disaster for our health and safety, both human and ecological. The STB must reveal who the sponsors and financiers of the coal train are, and refuse their applications to use our rail and rivers for their toxic shipments.

Absolutely. No coal should be allowed in California or the US for that matter.

The cumulative use of coal has resulted in the worst degradation of the climate and human health the world has even known

The Eel River is a high priority river for endangered SONCC Coho and Northern California steelhead, among other listed species. This project would be potentially ruinous for these species.

This is unconscionable. Not only does it endanger California land, but it passes this carcinogenic product off to poorer world countries. Find something moral to do with your$$$.

The North Coast community work hard to turn the ecological disaster of the North Coast Rail Authority into a sustainable plan for the Great Redwood Trail. Going backwards 100 years to poisonous coal and oil trains in this gem of an ecosystem is utterly unacceptable.

This is a geologically unstable, exceptionally fire prone area that is not suitable for a renewed trail line. And why is exceptionally fire prone? Yes, right... Climate change fueled by the burning of carbon. This is a stupid, selfish plan that does not serve the long term interests of the public.
