We all need to stand for clean air, and to protect our environment. California cannot take the risk and allow coal to travel through our state.

A stable, sustainable planet is far, far more valuable than all the money in the world. We cannot continue to dig up, market, and burn coal.

Both state and federal climate and energy priorities run contrary to this poorly conceived idea. Not only is it economically questionable, it is a climate no-go. With a precedent setting summer which included unfathomable heat, wildfires, floods, and hurricanes - we cannot afford to green light or even give these type of projects a serious thought. This project exemplifies a for-profit above all else mentality with egregious disrespect for nature, humanity, and their own children’s well-being.

And coal trains shed their poison into the air along the route. I saw how much they shed when they were trying to do this at the Oakland ports a number of years ago.
