Mining and burning coal profits big business at the expense of the health and well being of people and the environment. Keep coal in the ground where it belongs.

Coal does nothing to improve our world and only keeps us shacked to the past. Creating new expansions in this industry only ruins the good places we have left. Yes, coal is still a major source of power for now, but it is not the future and we must not expand it's reach simply to squeeze the last profits into the pockets of coal executives at the expense of Californians who would benefit from the rail trail.

This is almost too shocking to be true. If it's true, it cannot be tolerated. We cannot allow some obscure LLC, possibly not even an American company, to ship planet-killing coal through our back yards to be burned overseas where it will add to global warming. This is wrong on so many levels.

No to transporting hazardous coal along the Eel and Russian River watersheds which inhabit endangered coho salmon, threatened wild steelhead, chinook salmon and pacific lamprey. The geology of the area seismically unstable, and using an old and dilapidated railway is not a smart, safe, or viable way of transporting coal.

Keep coal out of the North Coast and in the ground where it belongs! Coal is the dirty past, our future is clean & green.

This is a terrible use of the railway access. It should become the bike path as hoped.

The Great Redwood Trail has been launched... It seems to me if someone wants to transport coal on it they'd have to do so by bike, backpack or cart! By the way, who are the public officials trying to undo what the people have fought so hard to get started? Hell NO to Coal!
