This is grandstanding. Of course it should be stopped. The counties on the rail routes to Oakland stopped it. Now they want to go to Humboldt??? It will not happen, and McGuire is not going to be a savior that all must bow down to.

We do not need to continue to use this dirty fossil fuel. We cannot degrade our environment to ship this unneeded commodity to somewhere else in the world. We need access to a healthy environment.

I own land along the rail line and I strongly object to the open train cars with filthy coal traveling through my land polluting the pristine wilderness along the way. It would be bad for the health of all the flora, fauna and humans in it's path. Halt the project now!
