The walking path made a great deal more sense. The coal industry does not care about the health of the communities it operates near or those who are impacted by their uncovered loads of coal... spreading deadly dust along their way.

What value would we add to the earth if we allow more coal to burn? No amount of money is worth the contamination this will bring to the planet. Also the rail way is structurally unsound, the earth along the eel river has rejected the railway time and time again. Why would we risk pollution on our already compromised rivers? Invest in solar if we need more money. The rail to trail will be of economic benefit to the north coast region and beyond. Please stop this last ditch effort of these money hungry, folks who have no vision of what health and life look like!

NO to the train proposal. What an incredible insult to even suggest such a thing when the changes to our climate are destroying habitats, waterways and the homelands of our children. This proposal is utterly irresponsible and must not go forward.

This is wrong and cruel. They will not get away with this. We need to send a message that the North Coast will not be just another money maker and that they are not welcome in California!

Please move this time, money and energy to invest in future tech; like wind and solar. Coal powered the Old West. Certainly we can do better 200 years later. Our grandchildren depend on it.

Investing in coal is investing in further climate change. This project will damage the struggling Eel River.
