As a Marin County resident, I do not want to see these toxic coal trains going through our environment. Coal is the energy of the past, not the future.

I value being able to walk on the Great Redwood Trail, which is safely away from traffic. I value what remains of our clean, breathable air, such as it is in the age of global warming-fueled megafires. And I value our water when it's abundant and now, in a time of drought. A coal train is a slap in the face to all these values. Passenger rail, freight rail with clean cargo, we can discuss. But a big NO to this terrible idea.
