Growing up on a chicken farm I understand why this petition is so Important to Wicomico County. The stench from the chicken houses creates insects which can cause diseases. Wake Up Wicomico County our nation is facing a serious epidemic with the Zika Virus! These chicken houses should not be in a highly populated area .
I have a suggestion... put these chicken houses in the neighborhood where the Shorebirds play and see how many complaints you get.

As property owner, voter and tax payer, I urgently request these houses be denied installation on the area of Naylor Mill and West Road. I have lived near chicken house before and the run off, smell and increased insects become unbearable to those who do not choose the life style. Poultry is a needed item on our menu but not in a house community area.

These Mega corporate farms are not farms. They should not be allowed near neighborhoods. They should have their own commercially designated area as other businesses do.

Large chicken houses are no longer agriculture. It is an industry that gives very few jobs, lots of environmental stress and make Wicomico County completely unattractive to people that generally come or stay here for peace and clean environment. Short term gain with high cost long term. Do not go that way.

I do not want the smell of chicken houses near me or my family and especially my grandchildren. I do not want the chemical run off either.

This madness needs to change. A Health ordinance would make zoning aware of of the surrounding properties. This would help them decide if what they are doing is right for everyone

If we are to have CAFOs on the Eastern Shore there needs to be a different zoning process for industrial farming and public health consequences must be fully studied before any CAFOs are approved.
