Petition of Concerned Citizens in Opposition to Municipal Plan to Locate Cell Tower in Residential Neighborhood We the undersigned citizens of the Town of Ridgefield hereby unanimously object to the Town's plan to purchase land adjacent to Ledges Road for the purpose of causing a Cell Tower to be erected thereon. We object because, among other things, the Tower will be located in a residential zone and in direct and immediate proximity to multiple existing family homes, it will have a considerable adverse impact on the character of the surrounding residential neighborhoods, it is not consistent with and is indeed hostile to residential zoning and the existing neighborhoods, it will create a highly visible and substantially offensive commercial use of residentially zoned land in the immediate backyards of occupied homes, and it will materially violate the protections the resident citizens reasonably expect and rely upon in purchasing residential property in a residential zone.
