Silver Strand State Beach is close and available for RV parking! No need to ruin the Cays aesthetic beauty with another one!!

The Cays resident neighborhood was not designed to handle the traffic associated with large RVs, daily and nightly delivery trucks, noise, and 24/7 operation of facilities. There is a reason that most communities distinguish between residential and commercial zoning. Additionally, siltation and sedimental runoff from ground clearing and construction will affect the clarity and pH of the seawater along the beach, leading to a loss of marine plant life, particularly for the eel grass which serves to filter the water. Because these plants provide food, birthing areas, and protection for fish and other marine animals, this may also affect the fish population. Further, the families and seniors who bought homes in the residential Cays expected a safe place to raise their children and live out their retirements. Why should the wish of one developer and greed for economic development in a sensitive habitat take precedence over the rights of 1200 homeowners? The developer made a bad business decision, despite having documentation showing that previous development proposals were denied by the Port. Why is the Port now asking Cays residents to pay for his poor decision?

This is an awful idea, we have Lived in the Cays for the past 30 years, raised our children here my husband was raised here and we relish on the harmony with nature and peace and quiet. The project would ruin all that we hold dear to this space. Please do not approve it, Respectfully Laura Orozco

An RV park, if that is really being proposed, is completely incompatible with the quiet residential character of the adjoining neighborhood. As depicted in the drawings, there is literally no room for actual RVs. It is yet another unacceptable hotel proposal in disguise, with the same parking, traffic, noise issues.

I oppose the plan for a hotel complex on North Grand Caribe Isle. It will bring increased traffic, clogging the main roads, and parking issues. Views of the South Bay will be eliminated and additional noise will be added to this small community.
