I also agree with this petition. Smoking at the main entrance is unacceptable.

Perhaps move the ashtray to the picnic table area behind the jura building + provide signage /info to guests

Fully support this initiative but it should extend beyond the building entrance. Most requirements also specify windows, ventilation intake and other openings (e.g. secondary smoke can drift into the Jura building from the second floor open space around the Luc Hoffmann terrace).

already raised this 3-4 years ago, having had to bring visitors in through a cloud of smoke!

I would appreciate not having to walk through a smoke cloud on the way into the office or elsewhere!

Our image as an environmentally responsible agency is really important, as is everyone's health. The area outside the front door is now being used increasingly for group smoke-breaks, which creates a bad impression on arrival.

I understand we can't ask smokers not to smoke but I hope we can find a solution to avoid smoking in the IUCN main entrance and hopefully at least 25 meters away from the IUCN buildings.

Excellent idea. Thanks for organizing. Personally, I hate coming through a cloud of smoke in winter. Passive smoking is a recognized health risk which I do not wish to be exposed to in the workplace. Thanks, Chris

As a non smoker, I don't want to be exposed to second hand smoke anywhere on IUCN grounds, but especially at the front entrance

First impressions for visitors to the building are important and having smokers loitering at the entrance does little for IUCN's image!! There used to be a pavilion shed around the side of the old building - is that no longer there?

the current ashtray is located smack below my office windows, moving it away would mean that I no longer have my office smelling of cigarettes. thank you for considering this!
Full support
