This program is entirely too distracting during instruction time. It puts more work on overburdened teachers, who are not running a cafeteria. I feel our school already has successful programs to help those kids in need.

Yes, absolutely, I think there should be breakfast in the classroom. Homeroom is a time that kids are reading and instruction has not begun. I think many parents and administration should consider that there are children who ride the bus early and may not have had the chance to eat. Buses don't always arrive early. Starting your morning with something in your stomach sets the tone for better learning. Furthermore, kids are this age seem to be able to eat a bunch (lol). Why should we deny the kids at Paul Revere the opportunity to have breakfast in the class. Teachers should not think of it selfishly on cleaning the rooms but what's best for their students. I agree there will be some waste but fresh fruit, cereal and often times hot breakfast can make the difference for some kids. If you child doesn't want it - they don't take it that day. Paul Revere prides itself on having kids from over 100 zip codes and knows that many of those are bused in yet don't want to make sure that those getting up at 5:30-6:00 are fed until nutrition? There are many kids who are in charter coming from all over with the same. I'm just saying - don't be so quick to jump and make a decision that affects all and not give it a chance. The fact that there is even a petition to keep it out is problematic.Additionally, it's not about finances but yes, it will also cut down on parental cost for breakfast because EVERYONE will have it. No money on your books - at least you could have had breakfast. I have other kids at other schools and they have the service - some teachers were opposed but just like anything - have adapted. No rats and mice there! Perhaps fight to extend the day 15 minutes vs. keep the kids from eating! It's not about free meals but I am sure that even those who can afford breakfast will be eating.

I am against Breakfast in the classroom of fall of the reasons listed by Pride … and because it is completely unnecessary to have students eat in Classrooms and take away crucial instruction time when Revere's current system is ensuring that all of out students are fed

No breakfast in the classroom or PRMS, the classrooms are for learning, students should be ready for their study when they step into the classrooms, definitely the classrooms are not cafeterias!!!
