This sounds like a plan that wasn't thought into correctly. I keep hearing studies that children function their best at early times but this is pushing the limits. These are our youngest children let's think this through.

This is an awful idea. Send High school students earlier so they can get to their other after school activities, like sports, music and jobs.

The proposed schedule will be detrimental for elementary school children.

Research proves that the early bell schedule as proposed by CCDS is harmful to kids’ academic performance. Why in the world would you want to implement something that has proved to be a bad idea?

I need to find out who proposes this no good plan. I think parents should refuse to send their elementary aged child to school this early.

There is no way I can get my five kids ready for school (feed, clean and awake ) by 630 am so they can be to school by 7. ughh

This would DRASTICALLY and adversely affect my family. I cannot leave work early and I cannot afford the cost of after care. I also cannot quit my job. What am I supposed to do about this???

CCSD Superintendent and County School Board Members to Attend next District 10 (West Ashley) Constituent School Board Meeting on Thursday, April 16 This information was directed on Friday afternoon (April 10) to the five members of the District 10 Constituent School Board. Since it was sent to the elected members of the local board and is about the agenda for the next regular meeting, it is public information. There will be a public comment opportunity soon after the school board meeting begins next Thursday. Check the CCSD website for the exact location of the meeting on the St. Andrew's Middle School campus or you can call the District 10 office (843-763-1500) for additional information. The first message from District 10 office staff reads as follows: “Good Afternoon, I just wanted to inform you that Michael Bobby, Acting Superintendent, will be attending the District 10 Board Meeting on Thursday, April 16th." A second message followed soon afterwards. According to a District 10 (St. Andrew’s) School Board member, “Cindy Coats, Kate Darby, Michael Miller and Eric Mack confirmed” they will attend Thursday’s constituent board meeting scheduled for April 16. “Tripp Wiles is unable to attend and [the board member who communicated this said they] haven't spoken to the rest of them” as of today (Friday, April 10). Based on previously published information found on the CCSD website, the regularly scheduled District 10 board meeting next Thursday will be held at the St. Andrews Middle School campus located at 725 Wappoo Road and will start at 5:30 pm. This will be the first time in recent memory, if not longer, that CCSD’s superintendent and a contingency of the county school board, including its chairman, are expected to attend and address the West Ashley (St. Andrew’s) Constituent School Board at the same time. Of course, this meeting is open to the public. Given the rising tide of concern expressed by parents to a
