This change will gravely impact not only impact our children but hard working parents. Requiring small elementary school children to be at school by 7:10 makes a long day for the child. Just because they start and finish earlier does not mean they will be picked up any sooner. Parents will still be required to work a full day which will require the child to stay in aftercare longer. Do what is right for our children and leave their schedule as it is.

Starting school this early for elementary children is ridiculous, especially given the time needed to get to school and prepare in the mornings. When will these children get a chance to just be children and enjoy family time?

Many elementary school children do not get home until after business hours when their caregivers pick them up from after school institutions. This will not change with a new bell schedule. But with an earlier school start time comes an earlier bedtime. In order to be well rested for a 7am school bell, children will have to be ready for bed by 7pm the night before. How will this be possible when many students don't even arrive at their homes until 6pm, after their caregivers' work day concludes? Where will they find time for dinner, hygiene, family time, recreation, homework? Older students have greater flexibility in their schedules because they are more independent. Elementary school students are at the mercy of their caregivers' schedules. And caregivers' schedules, student schedules and family schedules are at the mercy of the school bell. Please do not change the CCSD school bells.

My children will have to spend more time in Kaleidoscope if the bell time is changed. Family time is extremely important for a child's development. Please respect that. Elementary school children would have to go to sleep around 7PM to get a full night's sleep and be ready for the bus in the morning. Please do not change the bell time.

This change would be crazy and such a huge impact to our most vulnerable children. I cannot believe this change is even being considered.

It is inconvient to parents to have children so young outside and waitng for buses so early! These children will be exhausted! School should stay on the 8:00 schedule!!

Can't find any positive in changing the time. Our traffic issues in West Ashley need to be addressed and treated as an urgent matter. Traffic is why this issue is on the table. Doing the best for ALL of our students? Nope.Traffic.

This change would put a huge strain on families with two if not only one parent at home. At 7:00 a.m. start time is a 1 & 1/2 hour difference over the past two (2) years of school at SASMS. It is hard enough for a single mother who works 8:30a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to get my child from Kaleidoscope by 6:00 p.m. If the elementary schools, especially SASMS, in District 10 start at 7:00 a.m., children would spend approximately 11 hours at school 5 days a week. That doesn't seem fair especially to those children who have only one (1) parent at home and are trying to make the school day work as it stands. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE START TIMES IN DISTRICT 10. IT WOULD BE A HUGE MISTAKE FOR THE CHILDREN. THEY ALREADT DON'T GET ENOUGH SLEEP. THANKS FOR YOUR HEART FELT CONSIDERATION.

I strongly believe that more busses need to be purchased and that our children deserve and need more sleep than they are getting. Overtired children have inattentive and hyperative symptoms which makes learning more challenging.

Please do not change the time! Children already struggle with getting to school. This is way too early for students to be starting school. We are a magnet school and out of district and this would be tragic. Please do not pass this change!
