Minnesota medical professionals urge MMA to remain opposed to assisted suicide

I strongly disagree with physician assisted suicide and do not believe it is the best interest of our patients

Internist practicing for 20+ years: Assisted suicide is not needed in our modern day, and is not a good option.

I am a Geriatric RN in Minnesota, and I oppose assisted suicide.

Please retain your historical opposition to assisted suicide.

Please put effort into good hospice care and not into aid in dying/assisted suicide. I do not agree with killing my patients when there are good pain medications and sedation to help minimize suffering.

I support this petition. Assisted suicide should be rejected by the MMA, neutrality is not possible for clinicians.

Assisted suicide is wrong. This is against my religious and moral beliefs. There are programs such as hospice and comfort care to help people at the state.

As a Paramedic I strongly oppose assisted suicide and am greatly concerned that the pre-hospital profession will be dragged into this intrinsically evil and immoral act.

Physician assisted suicide goes against our oath as physicians to do no harm and interferes with what should be our single focus of caring for the patient.

Please, please...continue your support for effective palliative, hospice care. We need to support advances in care and comfort, not disregard it and fail the patient.

If you want assisted suicide, you don't need a doctor to give it. Someone else can administer (?undertaker?).

Please help us keep helping the sick, depressed and dying to die in comfort and support -not with pressure to cease being a burden to family.

After working almost 30 years in log term care< I feel assisted suicide is a great danger to the sanctity of God given life.

As a primary care physician, I oppose physician-assisted suicide for practical reasons and would be happy to discuss these with you.

The dignity of human life needs to be upheld and if we do not oppose assisted suicide it leaves the door open for this neutral stance to imply assisted suicide is ok, based on the medical providers morals. Let's not mess with what God has intended in regards to a natural death...
