Shelters should be located closer to the downtown core, in commercial areas which offer convenient access to supporting services and amenities. This location is far too residential.

There is nothing positive about this shelter. Especially after learning about CONC track record. Is the city going to give them money only to have the shelter forced closed down the road.

While homelessness is a serious issue in our city I do have safety concerns around the establishment of one in our area. If we look to other similar facilities many issues arise outside of shelter hours. Loitering outside and around the facility with potential drug and alcohol abuse is concerning for me and I am not sure if CONC will be able to address these issues.

I am not against shelters - although that is a very short sighted solution, and would welcome better housing for the homeless - with support in place in my area. However, CONC, which is an NFP with a bad track record in the past for managing shelters is not a good solution.

Why can't Harper send these losers to extermination camps? Hitler had some good ideas, we should use them.

How dare they build a shelter in my backyard! This is something that should be built somewhere else!!!!! In someone else's backyard!!!!111!!
If there are homeless in my neighbourhood, they should bring in buses immediately and bring them elsewhere. I mean, families live here!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111!!!!

This shelter would bring crime and drug related activities to a family oriented neighbourhood.

Winter is coming. Homeless people need a warm place to stay. Anyone who supports this petition needs to take a hard look in the mirror. Keep this ignorant class-based garbage out of OUR neighbourhood!!

I oppose a 30 bed men’s shelter under the management of the Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre.

It is irresponsible to plunk a 30 bed mens' shelter in any area without close community consultation and cooperation - especially to an NFP corporation with a bad track record.
