Really bad idea. As is usual for NLS the decision has been left to the last minute! My child was very enthusiastic about attending NLS 6th form, but not so much now. How about if the children have to wear a strict dress code the teachers do too EVEN IN HOT WEATHER - TIES AND SUITS FOR MEN!

I feel I have to challenge this decision and agree with many of the comments in this petition.

The pupils who don't follow the rules should be punished, not everyone else just to make it easier for the school. There is nothing wrong with the old dress code. Getting them ready for the real world is rubbish. Most of them will go to uni where there is no dress code. So how does this help???

Too expensive and difficult to do comfortably and with consideration of how the student feels about how they look at school

For a school trying to compete with other sixth forms in the area such as Myton and Kenilworth, the last thing they should be doing is upsetting potential students, even without this further damage to North Leam's appeal to potential students they were already beginning to fall behind the other sixth forms in the area. We still have had no example of sixth form lessons at north leam, we havnt been given the chance to meet the teachers of the subjects next year or given information on the courses and we havnt been able to ask subject specific questions, the point is stop acting like an authoritarian government and concentrate on our education! Even if the school is so "good", we havnt been shown it! We came to a sixth form day to experience the sixth form, not test our general knowledge and eat ice cream!
Do we really need to look like golf players to learn? Kenilworth Sixth Form seem to be achieving high grades while allowing the students to be treated like year 12-13s. Furthermore, no one at Kenilworth School came in half naked! Us 16 year olds don't dress like prostitutes you know! We've seen David Cameron, Nigel Farage, Chris Evans, Roy Hodgson, and Jeremy Corbyn's cabinet all resign, now we await the resignation of Jeremy Corbyn, and the person dragging North Leamington School down!

Outlaw all clothing that 16-18 year olds wear. Many parents will now have to buy suitable school clothes that meet this strict policy. Why not just leave them in uniform. I suggested Ian Poulter golf clothing catalogue.

This is just ridiculous! A total lack of respect for these young adults and parents/carers with no communication and no opinions taken into account! Simply rude!

6th Form is not just about "A" levels it is also about preparing students for University or College and treating them as "young adults". I also think if this dress code had been notified earlier it would have had an effect on the number of pupils opting to study "A" levels at NLS. Something for the school to consider.

A change in policy should involve student and parent consultation. I think a dress code is a good idea but does it need to be 'office wear'? Cost implications are also important.
