I agree. They’re not giving us much credit as adults to carry on with the necessary precautions of picking up this virus. To say “things happen at campgrounds that could impair people’s judgement” is a BS excuse in my opinion. And quite frankly insulting.

We need our parks open for the mental well being of all Newfoundlanders . These campsites are our cabin a place to go to get away from stress and take in the outdoors this is such a important part of our lives its not right to take it away from us . Rules can be implemented and followed to social distancing work with the owners on ways they can open let us use our investment . Our trailer stays in the park year round for over 10 years we can go there and stay in our bubble the same as we are doing at home camping is not all about partying this is our safe place its what we look forward to after a long winter , its what gets us through stressful time and gives us a place to escape everyday stress please let our parks open dont take this away from us

Camping in our campground is good for our mental health. If government are concerned about people’s mental health they should let us go to our happy place.

My question is has the health minister and CMO been in discussion with park owners to put rules and regulations in place for this new way of life for camping. Regards.

I can social distance and stay in my bubble at my seasonal campsite just as well as I can at home. Please don’t take the only thing we have to look forward to away.

We have been camping since 1986. Have missed one Victoria Day weekend since then which was 2011 when my mom died. I am afraid that if we can’t get to go camping , mental health will be another pandemic that the government will have to deal with We are adults, not children, and like so many more, I go camping to get away - not party. And my camping season has always been from May 24 to thanksgiving. Hard to have a staycation at home when we’re not allowed to move
