It is absolutely ridiculous that NJ Transit would block access to a station meant to serve passengers (and in the name of "safety" when walking along U.S.46 with no sidewalks is substantially less safe). The solution is to built a proper crossing to reach the station, thus making it accessible, and also making the shopping centers east of the railroad tracks accessible to residents on the west side of the railroad tracks.

I now can't use this station at all to visit my friend in Hasbrouck Heights, where I used it a couple of times a week before.

May I also point out that the station is almost invisible from the street and there are no signs marking its presence. Not only is it nearly impossible to reach by foot or by bicycle, it is also incredibly difficult to reach and/or find by car, especially at night.

I used to walk through here every morning to get to work but now its a huge detour. NJ Transit really didnt think this one through.
