As mostly everyone is aware, today's society is becoming worse, especially with all the violence towards emergency personnel. EMTS and Paramedics are restricted in the State of New Jersey from carrying anything that can protect us in any unforeseen instance. I would like to take this opportunity to ask everybody, weather you are in emergency services, know a loved one that is, or are just a concerned citizen of the State of New Jersey to please help us as EMTS/Paramedics to be able to defend ourselves if the time ever arises. With the right training, I do believe if EMS personnel were able to carry a firearm, it would come with many benefits, not just to the providers themselves, but also to the general public of the State of NJ. How would you feel if a loved one of yours, a father, mother, daughter, son, or grandparent/grandchild, were ever in a position where they needed life threatening medical help and EMS could not enter the scene because we have no way to defend ourselves or others.
