CVT Program Details FAQs Included Vehicles About Nissan’s CVT Contact Nissan Consumer Affairs Home Parts and Service Bulletin Transmission Fluid (PDF) Related Sites www.nissanusa.com www.infinitiusa.com CVT Program Details Dear Nissan Owner: On behalf of everyone at Nissan, we would like to thank you for choosing to drive a Nissan. One of the many technologically-advanced features of your vehicle is the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), an innovative transmission that offers smooth, seamless shifting, while tailoring the vehicle's output to your driving style. While Nissan is proud to offer this technology on many of our models, a small percentage of owners of early models equipped with CVTs have expressed concerns about the cost of repair of their transmissions after the warranty expires. We take these comments about the cost of vehicle ownership seriously. We strive to provide an exceptional ownership experience and are implementing a thorough Customer Satisfaction Program to address this topic. First, to provide you with additional assurance regarding your overall cost of ownership we have doubled the warranty period for the Continuously Variable Transmission in your Nissan. The existing powertrain warranty coverage of 5 years/60,000 miles will be extended at no cost to you, for CVT repairs, replacements or related towing, to 10 years/120,000 miles, whichever comes first. This extension is effective immediately and requires no action on your part. The remainder of your powertrain warranty coverage for components other than the transmission remains unchanged, at 5 years/60,000 miles, and your basic warranty coverage also remains unchanged. All other warranty terms, limitations and conditions otherwise apply. This extended transmission warranty is also fully transferable to future owners of your vehicle. Second, Nissan will reimburse customers who have previously paid to repair or replace their CVT, if the repairs would have been covered within the new exte

I have a new 2015 Nissan Sentra S with this cvt transmission in it. At 1055 miles, i noticed a problem right away that this transmission wasn't properly shifting in our mountains here in N.C. went to the dealer about this and they couldn't locate any problems. went online to find out more about this and found all types of problems associated with Nissan and Jatco transmissions. Nissan owns 75% of this transmission company. Do you really expect Nissan to admit to there known mistakes about this transmission????? a class action law suit is really needed to put a stop to Nisan from selling cars with faulty transmissions. the government needs to get involved in this also. This is a case just like VW and there diesel emmission problems. Lets see what can be done about this and unite as a group against corrupt car dealers.

Vance from Nissan told me today that he has been empowered by Nissan to refuse assistance with my bad CVT transmission. Nissan needs to be held liable for selling vehicles with known problems.

I have a 2014 Pathfinder SL 4WD and have experienced bucking or shudder between 12 - 20 mph. I brought it to my local nissan service shop several times for diagnosis. Every time they checked it for codes however none appeared. At arround 38K miles it did it again so I took it in and this time it didn't pass the judder test and they had to replace the transmision. On 9 Nov 15 the new transmision acted up. The RPMs went to 4,500 RPMs however I was only going 15 mph. Imidiatly took it to nissan and they found nothing wrong with it. I contacted Nissan customer affairs when the transmision was found to be bad and requested they buy the vehicle back...they did not. I am concerned that I will have more transmission issues. I'm a mother of four children and I'm scared for children's safety. Nissan is knowledgeable on the problems with these cars and are yet to fix it. I'm a single mom four kids and this is my only transportation. The cvt and these cars should be recalled. It almost caused accidents and my young son is scared to ride in my car. Is it going to take numerous of deaths to make someone listen or do they even care? I can only ask the people in charge this if it where your son, daughter, father, mother aunt or unkle who's lives are in danger what would you do?

My car was broken at 82,000 miles. When I towed it to the dealer they told me that I need to replace the transmission. I was told by the dealer and Manufacture that I have to pay for the repair cost because the cause of damage was external corrosion of transmission pan. I continuously maintained my car with the nissan dealer but nobody informed me with the issue. I am frustrated with the quality of the car and quality of service of nissan dealers.
