My 2012 altima has gone into limp mode/failsafe mode 4 or 5 times in the last 2 years. It is very dangerous when it happens in traffic on the highway. The car has less than 100k miles as of October 2017

2013 Altima transmission died at 79k miles and bc I haven't been a "loyal" customer and had my car serviced at a dealership, they are refusing to stand behind their product and extend my warranty. Left me with a 4k bill and said I had no way to appeal it and it was their final decision. I've reported to BBB, Consumer Affairs, Attorney General and several media outlets. These transmissions are known to be terrible. We almost got in an awful collision in an intersection with my son in the car!! Never again will I purchase a Nissan. This was my fourth Nissan. How's that for loyalty?!! I've also posted my warning and story in several groups with over 40k members to stay away. They've all commented w similar stories.

I just bought a used 2007 Nissan Altima 3 weeks ago and after about a week start d pricing problems.. a catch when driving.. slowly got worse and worse.. took it in and was told it needed a new transmission. Not ONLY does it need a new transmission it is a CVT transmission, which basically stands for piece of crap because th mechanic will not even put a slightly used CVT in it because they have so many problems, the guys who rebuild transmissions won’t even TOUCH them, my ONLY option is to buy a brand new CVT transmission which will cost $5000, which is more than a paid for the car!!!!!!!!!

Just the other day I was driving home and approaching a red light when all of a sudden without warning my car stalled out. I was not able to get the transmission to engage in gear and it just continues stall when in gear. I was luckily able to get off the road and to the mechanic who had made me aware that the problem was my transmission. I then had my car towed to the Nissan service center where they had confirmed that I indeed needed a new transmission. I reached out to Nissan consumer affairs who told me that my warranty expired at 60,000 miles and I had 75,000 miles. I voiced my concern that my CVT transmission had a reprogramming campaign and this was not right, having my CVT transmission fail at such low mileage while I'm still making car payments on the car. Good thing I purchased a extended warranty through a third party or I would have had to deal with the expensive remanufactured CVT transmission myself like so many other consumers. While Nissan was "generous" enough to extend the warranty on certain models with CVT transmission problems from the years 2003-2010 from 5 years/60,000 miles to 10 years/120,000 miles they are unwilling to extend that same warranty to the consumers of the newer models/years with the very same CVT transmission problems and failure, such as myselfI believe that I should have never had to purchase a extended warranty because Nissan's consumers of cars with CVT transmissions should have been entitled to that very same warranty extension of the earlier years due to the fact that the problem with the CVT transmission remains unresolved. Nissan needs to be held accountable and rectify this.

I have a 2013 Nissan Altima bought it brand new and now I'm having problems with my CVT. My car was driving fine and all of a sudden it started to not pull. Took it to dealership next day and after they look at it was told I need a new transmission. I call corporate and I spoke with a lady and she advise to that it was a recall on the cvt to be reprogram. I was told that they did reprogram it but I don't believe that they program it because they always tell me when i go in for service if there's a recall and this time they didn't until I said something about it.

We had a 2012 Nissan Quest and needed to replace the transmission at 80,000 miles. It began to shows signs of malfunctioning again at 100,000 miles so we had to turn it back into the dealer.

NOW THEY TELL ME TO FIX IT MYSELF AND PAY 5300 OUT OF POCKET, THEY WILL NOT HELP ME. A BRAND NEW CAR OFF THE LOT, LESS THAN FOUR YEARS OLD DOWN TWICE WITH BAD TRANSMISSIONS. NISSAN NEEDS TO BE HELP ACCOUNTABLE

2015 versa bought new. CVT is out at 70,000. There is an extended warranty offered on the 2003-2010 models up to 120,000 for same problem. I asked dealership service center why not on newer models. He said they fixed the issue.

2013 Nissan Altima, CVT transmission is having pressure sensor error codes and will not go into gear. Nissan dealer wants to charge $3500 to replace the entire CVT. No longer covered under warranty due to mileage being over 120,000. I feel that since they lied and sold me the car in July of 2013, knowing that there were issues with that transmission I should not have to pay. I even spoke to a salesperson at that dealership this month and he said "Oh yeah, we had several problems so in 2014 Nissan switched transmissions to a better one." Nissan knew and still continued to sell their cars in 2013.

I bought Nissan Murano on September 22, 2017 from Agincourt Nissan , Toronto ON, and within a week I returned it to the dealership as I could not tolerate the vibrations. Their mechanic took it for test drive with me and admitted it is an ongoing problem. He then took me in their demo Murano that had same vibrations. I refused to drive my car. Their Manager said he will find a solution and will call me back but he never did. He told me he cannot do anything. The service manager of dealership also acknowledged that cvt has problems and create vibrations. I cannot believe that Nissan and it's dealers are hiding this from their customers. This is not acceptable. I want more people to join this and Sue them. I can be reached by email [email protected] for more information. This is a big scam.
