In light of the events of October 27th, 2014, as well as the events of October 24th, 2011, we, the undersigned, would like to recommend to Nipissing University that we ensure our institution is properly equipped, with doors that lock from the inside in each of our classrooms, to handle another lockdown situation. We also feel it is important to ensure that all safety notification equipment is tested and in working condition. Beyond the aforementioned items, we would like to request that the administration honour their commitment to follow through as is stated in the procedure laid out by Nipissing University.

i pay way to much tuition to have to barricade myself in with a desk during a lockdown. get it done.
The feeling of being trapped in a room with a door that just stays unlocked is awful. Nipissing needs to step up and actually keep us safe.
i was in one of those rooms and it was terrifying not being able to secure the door. why do we have to move heavy furniture just to feel safe?
FIX THE DOORS. simple as that. we shouldnt have to worry about this every time we go to class.
Having to barricade our classroom door with desks because we couldn't lock our classroom door was ridiculous. The whole experience was a nightmare
