Wearing shorts is not inappropriate or sexual. Wearing a t-shirt depicting sexual acts is inappropriate and sexual. Theres a difference, Ms. Nichols.
I hope my shoulders don't distract my fellow classmates, because thats surely not my intention. God, the dress code is so ridiculous and really penalizing towards female students. It shames us for things we have no control over, such as the size and shape of our legs, the fact that we have shoulders(guess what? So do you Ms. Nichols), and the scorching climate of Texas.

Students go to school for their education, not for attention or harassment based on their attire. If employees or other students are "distracted" by the length of a teenage girls shorts, then that's a problem they need to work out for themselves. Sexualizing natural body parts that ALL people have, such as legs and shoulders, is not the way to teach students how to live life after high school, because that is not how it is. So tell me Ms. Nichols, what deems the length of a females shorts inappropriate? Simply because she is showing a sliver more of skin than if she was wearing a pair of shorts one inch longer that would be deemed appropriate. Oh wow, students and teachers can actually pay attention when someone wheres shorts that meet mid thigh or higher?

The administration of RRHS is focused on entirely the wrong issues. Round Rock High school was a joke. I was in AP classes and NHS and graduated in the top 20% and still did the bare minimum. Perhaps they should focus on curriculum and stop perpetuating the sexist dress code rules.

I would appreciate it if I could wear shorts so my legs are not fully covered in 100° weather. That sounds reasonable.

Learning has nothing to do with what someone wears. Learning involves the relationships between the student and their teachers. Round Rock should encourage individualism and imagination in its youth. Kids need to find out who THEY are, not who someone wants them to be. So, whether they wear revealing clothes for the sake of staying cool under the hot Texas sun, or just because it's how they dress everyday and express themselves. I believe that this dress code policy should be withdrawn. Let's not put shackles on these kids.

This is ridiculous. Interrupting class to have a "dress code sweep" is utterly embarrassing students in front of their peers. School should also be a place that students feel safe, not embarrassed to walk into school for the rest of their high school career.

This is outrageous. Interrupting a class to make sure kids are dress appropriately for 70° weather. Not 100+. The admistrative staff has some reevaluations to make.

Let's spend a little more time on education and a little less time giving a crap if your sleeves are 3 fingers wide or your shorts come
To your wrist and not your finger tips. This is not the only administration that has things ass backwards -- look at some of the athletic programs at our school -- they don't allow the kids to be individuals anymore. Get your crap togther Round Rock

Embarrassing for the kids and also makes young men think that is up to women to keep them from being distracted by how they dress. Simply not efficient and embarrassing.

I went to this school and graduated in 2010 and everything that was stated in this was right and acurate. In Texas with temperature at and over 100 with humidity so high is unfair on the students. What happens when someone can't wear shorts because they are all to short now adays and has to wear pants every day and starts Sweating gets embarrassed and made fun of because they can't control their sweats? There has to be a fair agreement and compromise. Hope this helps

Nike shorts, sandals, and tank tops are essential to beating the Texas heat. ESPECIALLY on such a large campus with mostly outdoor walkway to get to class
