To the CUSD Board of Trustees, Superintendent Vital, and Capistrano Unified School District:

This petition is to show our support for the CUSD Board's decision in designating NIGUEL HILLS as the middle school location for our Mandarin Immersion program.

We commend the CUSD Board for launching and propelling Orange County’s first public school K-12 Mandarin Immersion program within Capistrano Unified School District, so that our students can become proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in both English and Mandarin.

The approved schools include Bergeson Elementary, Niguel Hills Middle School, and Capistrano Valley High School – which are less than 3 miles from each other, located centrally within the district, and accessible via the 5 and 73 freeways.

Moreover, we thank the Friends of MIP Executive Board, MIPAC, as well as our administrative staff who have already begun working with the principal of Niguel Hills Middle School to ensure that our transition into middle school is a successful one.
