The recent recruitment exercise conducted on Saturday 15th March 2014 by Nigeria Immigration Service, in which applicants died due to stampede at different venues must be investigated. The statement credited to the Minister of Interior, Mr Abba Moro citing impatience as the cause of the death is unacceptable and he is no longer fit for purpose as a federal minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The inability of the NIS to conduct a credible recruitment exercise is a disgrace to the nation and the top bosses have shown they are incapable of conducting a dignifying recruitment exercise. Those deaths are avoidable had the bosses assess the risk involved in inviting such huge numbers of applicants at the same time to same venue.
