Given the mixed views and feelings by fans over the last two JJ Abram's Trek films - particularly Into Darkness (Kahhhnnnn!!!!) there are rumours speculating on who should now direct the next Trek film in JJ's absence.
As a Trekkie of 30 years I feel that the position of Director for the next film should be offered to Nicholas Meyer and this petition is raised in order to get Paramount to do just that. For those who don't know Nicholas - he directed Star Trek 2: Wrath of Kahn and also ST6: Undiscovered Country.
You might not realise but he also cowrote ST4: The Voyage Home alongside Harve Bennett. These were no doubt the best three films of the Trek film franchise to date. Nicholas has excellent insight into the Trek universe and what makes for a great Trek story. I was very impressed by his appearance and guest talk at the recent Star Trek London 2013 event in October where his knowledge and talent is badly needed for the next Trek film. A truly gifted gentleman.
