We the undersigned agree with Dave Sabourin that the new NHS Prompt Care Center (formerly Ontario Street) should be located at Schmon Parkway in Thorold.

Dave's thoughts:

1. The area is located in the middle of two cities where the traveling from the furthest point is almost the same 15 minutes.

2. Brock University is across the street with 14,000 plus students and will be getting larger as time goes by

3. It is a good area that could attract new business just because of its location

4. Access is easy from the 406 like any other hospital or prompt care location

5. The regional MDS Lab for the Niagara Region is right beside the area where the new prompt care center could be built.

6. Did you know that almost all blood work or other tests are done at the MDS lab even while in hospital?

7. Being next door to the MDS lab I would think it would speed up test results if the prompt care needs to know if they are dealing with an emergency or not and if so the patient would be sent to the new hospital if it was a more urgent matter. Also if testing was done and the patient was sent home and told to wait for a phone call like many do now this could be avoided by having the prompt care center so close to the lab.

8. One thing I have made clear is that the board should be made up of at least 1 member throughout Niagara for each city to have a voice as we can see what happens to other cities (example- Fort Erie & Port Colbourne).
