He is much misinformed. As a rape survivor myself, I can guarantee you that rape is NOT a crime of "passion" (as most people think) but is, in fact, a crime of violence. The "pleasure" comes in knowing you have totally dominated a person and you have used the one thing that guarantees a reaction. This type of thinking absolutely DOES NOT belong in our Government.

If, indeed, all this began because he was falsely accused of rape (and, if that is true, it is heart breaking), it is not an excuse for his vile misogyny, and he both needs therapy and should not be in a position to influence legislation for women of any kind.
