The NFL is docking the Washington Redskins $36 million and the Dallas Cowboys $10 million against the salary cap over the next two years (and spreading that extra cap room out among 28 other teams). What the NFL has done in this salary-cap case is a despicable abuse of the power. These teams declined to engage in collusion, even under threat of penalty from the league overseers. What the Redskins and Cowboys did was legal and what the league did was not. We the undersigned support the following: We believe that the Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary should intervene in this case and show the NFL that it is not above the law.
