Seeing this level of support reminds me how many people still cherish the history hidden behind those crumbling walls. This momentum is the push we need to ensure the building is finally given the protection it deserves.

Seeing one hundred people recognize the importance of preserving this building feels incredible. I have walked past these decaying walls for years and always hoped someone else would care about them as much as I do.

My Dad played here in the 1960s. Its a real shame to see such an iconic venue that has a rich heritage of music history in a state of disrepair! Please save the New Lansdowne Club!
This fantastic building is a fabulous example of Georgian building and a rare gem in Hackney. It should be celebrated and restored and the gardens redesigned and restored and used again for educational and therapeutic courses, training etc. Perhaps it could be used to help ex offenders or the less fortunate or rehabilitated. Please look after this precious building, the likes of which we will never see again.
Hackney Council are allowing this and the Bishop Wood's Almshouses fall into disrepair. There are many such buildings in Hackney on the English Heritage 'At Risk' Register which deserve sympathetic treatment.
We have to save Hackney's elegant buildings, we don't want another revolting building like Iceland over the road.
The former Elizabeth Fry Refuge, this is a landmark - its loss dishonours one of the greatest campaigners for social justice in our history. And it is a beautiful building.

I know this building well. It needs to be restored to its former glory!

Is it possible to restore it into a public useful space that would give it renewed lease of life. I am inspired by restoration of the Portico in E5 for GPs new space. I wonder if this space could be restored for the use of a Dermatology Department (as currently at Homerton Hospital we cannot find space for it) and with the help of NHS England, Hackney Council and Georgian Heritage Society we could potentially restore this beautiful building . It would be of great value to our society. Skin cancer and skin allergic conditions are on increase. We can help our Hackney residents to recursive help in the heart of Hackney in this stunning building. Dr Anna Chapman
