I fully support this petition. Lewis Field would be perfect. This could not go to a more deserving coach.

I attended Harding while coach Lewis was there and he was an excellent teacher /coach. I think it would be a great honor to name the new Warren Harding field after such a great man.

My HS team shared practice field with Bassick HS while Mr Lewis coached as an assistant there. We knew when he left there for WHHS that their program would be on the upswing and I experienced that in our games against WHHS in '68 & '69. Well coached, well played, and respected as an opponent. Yes, long overdue!!

I strongly feel that naming the new Harding High School Football Field after the late coach John Lewis is indeed proper and would encourage the Board of Education and the City of Bridgeport to endorse this proposal.
